Alex is a landscape architect and planner who understands the planning, environmental and design processes of development and is able to communicate this understanding clearly to clients, consultants, statutory authorities and the public.

Alex has extensive experience of renewable energy developments from initial feasibility appraisals to securing planning consents and implementation. He has worked on all scales of wind energy development, from single turbine proposals to S.36 wind farm applications.

He is expert in Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments, and project managing Environmental Impact Assessments and planning applications. He has been landscape witness and project manager for wind farm Appeals.

Alex is an accomplished landscape designer who can apply his design skills from the strategic to the detail design level.

He has had the privilege in his career to work on a number of high profile projects, including the inception phase for Owenstown, a 21st planned new town in South Lanarkshire; and two prestigious residential roof gardens in Edinburgh, which re-invented the shared tenement garden for modern flatted development.

Alex is a chartered member of the Landscape Institute, and an Associate of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
